THANK YOU and a SAD FAREWELL

Dear BL friends~

I just wanted to say before we all go our own ways how much this has meant to me. After all was said and done last night and I was quietly at home I realized how much of a sense of loss I feel (no pun intended). I appreciate with all sincerity the HARD work you have all put in and how much you have helped me along the way. THANK YOU! I hope that you will all know that as you continue to work towards and reach your goals that I will be here cheering you on and working towards my goals as well. So, a new day begins and as it does I greet my unlikely best friend, the treadmill, and looked for the joy in the next 12 weeks.

Keep on keepin on~ Julie D.

Week 9-10 Challenge, Host: Amy L.

We all have bad habits that got us into the whole "wanna lose weight" point in our lives.  I, for example, while on bedrest with the twins picked up a habit of eating while reading, eating while watching movies, eating while on the computer and pretty much eating any time my hands were not busy.  (Bedrest is really, really boring).  Unfortunately those habits have stayed with me.  Some of you have already shed some of your bad habits but I am sure you can find another one.  So this weeks challenge is to replace a bad habit with a good one.  One of the first steps to that is accountability.  Confess your bad habit to someone or hear on this blog as a comment, and then state what you are going to replace that bad habit with.  I have a few hobbies I would like to replace my bad habbits with.  Maybe I should scrapbook while watching a movie, or maybe when I feel a craving to eat while reading or on the computer, I should drink water or chew gum instead.

Scoring:  You get one point for posting your bad habit and the good habit you will replace it with or you can tell someone you trust to hold you accountable.  You also get one point for every full day you actually replace that terrible habit with a good one.  I chose this challenge because I need to kick a few more habits that I have.  I hope you all are successful and Happy New Year!!!!

Week 8 Challenge Winner !!!

I am still waiting to award the person who was the most motivational, the most uplifiting, the most inspiring for week 8. I just could use a few comments on the blog to let me know how it went. Without comments then I will go ahead and give the award to the one person who mentioned how many points they got during that week to Jourdan. Most of all, I hope that it was a postive experience for everyone.

A good laugh.

Look what I finally figured out how to do by myself. I just need to say, because it has been on my mind since Jourdan wrote it....that part to the side of the blog that says "That's two of your wives" cracks me up. Religously speaking that is just funny. I believe what she means is two wives of two individual contestants. Laughter is a good way to burn calories though.

Week 6 - 7 Challenge Winner

The winner of the ZZZZZ challenge is:

JULIE DEVER

Actually, multiple individuals tied in this challenge, so I had to choose a tiebreaker. The tiebreaker chosen was who responded first on the blog out of the individuals who tied for 1st. Since Jule posted 1st out of this group, Congrats to you, Mrs. Dever! Your reward is a family sized stuffed pizza from Papa Murphy's and a gallon of rocky road ice cream (to be devoured by only you)! Just kidding, I will bring something by Saturday morning to party on the wii!!!

Week 8 Challenge- by Julie D.

Here is your Week 8 challenge,
Can you believe we are working on 8 weeks of healthy living here. That  is simply amazing. Think about where we all were just 8 weeks ago. This has been a great opportunity for physical health, but what we sometimes forget about is the emotional aspect that goes along with it. We all have reasons why we were overweight and reasons why we wanted to loose that weight. Just about now, and especially with the holiday's upon us, those reasons seem to creep back into our lives and for some to the point of discouragement. I know from experience that Weight Watchers even gives out an award to those who keep going past 6 weeks because that is the average point of drop out. So, for this week the challenge is to encourage your fellow participants. Those words of support have meant so much to me along the way that I think we all could use some positive attention. So, each day this week take a minute to give a call or write a note to someone else who is participating in this race. For those of you out of town, feel free to give Jourdan a call and encourage her and then she can offer some phone numbers of others locally for you if you would like. ALSO, on Saturday morning from 9:00-9:45 you are all invited over to my house in your workout clothes to share some fun stories, low fat recipe ideas and a little play time on the Wii fit. If you are from out of the state and can not attend, then just give us a call and let us support and encourage you over the phone.
So, in short, this week is all about encouragement and motivation and lots of LOVE! Every day that you participate in this challenge you get a point, but I guarantee that you will come away with a lot more than just points. I am proud to know you all!
